Where to Stay in Manuel Antonio: Best Hotels & Areas (2026)
Best hotels in Manuel Antonio by budget and area. Luxury resorts, mid-range picks, and where to base yourself. Local recommendations.
Quick answer: The Manuel Antonio hotel zone stretches along a single hillside road between Quepos and the national park entrance. Luxury travelers should look at Tulemar, Arenas del Mar, or Gaia (adults-only). Mid-range: Las Cascadas, Parador, Si Como No, Shana by the Beach. Budget: stay in Quepos town (5 min drive). The best area depends on whether you prioritize beach proximity, ocean views, or walkability to restaurants.
Choosing a hotel in Manuel Antonio is really about choosing a location on the hill. Every hotel sits somewhere along a 7 km road that climbs from Quepos town up to the national park entrance. Where you stay on that road determines what you walk to, what you drive to, and what views you wake up to.
This guide breaks down the neighborhoods, the budget tiers, and the specific hotels we book most often for Toorizta clients. We know these properties firsthand: our family owns Boutique Hotel Las Cascadas near Marina Pez Vela, and we have personally visited every hotel on this list.
Understanding the Manuel Antonio Hotel Map
The geography is simple. One road runs from Quepos (the working town with the marina, restaurants, and bus station) up a steep hill to the national park entrance. Hotels are scattered along this road and on side streets branching off it. The higher you go, the better the ocean views. The lower you stay, the closer you are to the park and beaches.
Area
Character
Best For
Near Park Entrance (bottom)
Walking distance to beaches, close to park
Beach lovers, families with kids
Mid-Hill
Best restaurants, some ocean views, central
Couples, foodies, convenience seekers
Hilltop
Panoramic Pacific views, quieter, more exclusive
Luxury couples, honeymooners
Quepos Town
Local vibe, marina, lower prices, 5 min to MA
Budget travelers, fishing enthusiasts
Dallas’s tip: The hill road is steep and not great for walking. If you stay at a hilltop hotel, you will taxi to the beach and park ($5 to $10 each way). If beach proximity matters most, stay near the bottom of the hill. If sunset views matter most, stay at the top. There is no wrong answer, just different trade-offs.
Best Luxury Hotels ($250+ per night)

5. Boutique Hotel Las Cascadas The Falls

Rating 9.0/10. Full disclosure: this is our family property. Las Cascadas sits near Marina Pez Vela with jungle-draped suites, complimentary breakfast and coffee, on-call spa treatments, and multilingual hosts who handle shuttles, fishing charters, and babysitting. The property combines boutique quality with genuinely personalized service that larger resorts cannot match. Suites have Wi-Fi, fridges, and open-air terraces overlooking the jungle canopy.
6. Parador Nature Resort & Spa

Rating 9.4/10. Perched on a 12-acre rainforest bluff with three pools, nature trail network, and on-site fine-dining restaurant. Connecting rooms and kids’ splash zones make it the best mid-range option for families.

8. Shana by the Beach
Modern, clean, and well-priced near the bottom of the hill. Walking distance to Playa Espadilla. Solid choice for couples who want a newer property without the luxury price tag.

Best Budget Stays (Under $100 per night)
For budget-friendly stays, look at Quepos town rather than the Manuel Antonio hill road. Quepos is only 5 minutes by taxi from the hotel zone, and prices are significantly lower. Budget options include guesthouses, Airbnbs, and smaller hotels ranging from $40 to $90 per night. The quality varies, so ask us for current recommendations based on your dates.

Should You Stay in Quepos or Manuel Antonio?
Quick answer: Stay on the Manuel Antonio hill road if you want ocean views, walkable restaurants, and proximity to the park. Stay in Quepos if you are on a budget, want a more local atmosphere, or are focused on fishing at Marina Pez Vela.
Quepos is not a consolation prize. The marina area has excellent restaurants (Gabriella’s for Italian, Emilio’s for seafood), and staying near the marina puts you closest to sport fishing departures. Hotel rates in Quepos are 30 to 50% lower than the same quality level on the MA hill.
For most first-time visitors, we recommend staying on the Manuel Antonio hill road. For repeat visitors or travelers on a tighter budget, Quepos is a smart base.
Booking Tips
High season vs green season. Hotel rates peak December through April. Green season (May to November) rates drop 20 to 40% at most properties.
Book direct vs. OTA. When you book through Toorizta, we work directly with the hotels to request upgrades, preferred room locations, and complimentary extras. The price is the same as booking direct.
How far in advance. In high season, book luxury properties 2 to 3 months ahead. Mid-range hotels fill 3 to 6 weeks out.
Dallas’s tip: If you already have a hotel in mind, we can still help. We will manage the booking at the same price you would pay directly, handle any special requests, and coordinate your shuttle, tours, and park visits around your hotel location. One point of contact for everything.
